I will start off this week with a reflection on some of the ideas I presented on Sunday, January 27, 2005.

Psalm 139 is one of the key passages we look at when we consider the fact that God is decidedly "pro-life." What I mean by this is that the Psalm clearly states: "You knit me together in my mother's womb. you saw me before I was born..." (v 13-16) Not only here, but in other parts of the Scripture we see that our Heavenly Father loves us and knows us even in the womb. Our Creator made us with a love that extends into eternity past. (Ephesians 1:4). This should humble us and cause us to fall down in worship of the Maker of all things who desires to have an intimate relationship with us!

When I say that God is "pro-life" I am not saying that He gives a "blanket" approval of everything that happens in the so called "pro-life movement". What I am saying is that we find in the Word of God (The Bible), that God values life, and more specifically values you personally. This has broad implications on how we live our lives right now... God, as the giver of our life, has our best interests in mind, and he is pleased to "hear from us" when we worship Him. His grand purpose and design for you is that you come to him "The Giver of Life" and praise His Holy Name for the life he has given you.

In other words...

I have a lot of hope for the future of this church, and I hope this feeling is contagious! We have a tremendous amount of talent in this church, and you are part of a larger plan that God has to bring the Good News of salvation to our hurting world. Those of us who have been here for a while know the cracks and holes of the "building." In spite of that, we PRESS ON in the Might and Power of our Lord Jesus Christ. Say - I am excited about what our Heavenly Father is going to do in your life this year. Can't you just see in your mind's eye the good things that God is going to bring our way this year? Join me as we pray together and work together for the Glory of our God.

Glad I am your Pastor.... !
